It provides information on all of Edison’s major inventions. It shows when each was made, it’s purpose, and what inspired it’s creation.

This was a very helpful website because it provided criticsl knowledge of Edison’s personal life. This website also presented numerous quotes from Edison’s life during his inventive time period(s).

This source was a newspaper that provided much information on the phonograph. This was a newspaper from the late 1800s featuring the story of Edison’s invention. It also had a picture of Edison’s phonograph with Uncle Sam next to it with his hat off:It said Sam takes his hat off.

4.Book: Burgan, Michael. Edison: Great American Inventor. Signature Lives Press, August 2006.

This book shows how Edison was fascinated with technology & chemical experiments and where it led him. Also where he set the stage for his life of discovery and invention. Also when he was dubbed a genius and a hero as the Wizard of Menlo Park.

This website provided many facts that helped us achieve a better understanding of Edison’s world. Like how he met with Henry Ford and what we saw through his eyes based on knowledge of his behavior.

6.Article: The Phonograph 1880 Newspaper.(It spread the rumor of invention)

About 4-5 pgs.

This article had information privy to Edison’s first presentation of the phonograph. It said, “Extra, Extra! Read All About it. Contraption able to record sound. Craziest thing ever heard. Go see it today!” It talked about how many were going to see it and where it was at. This gave us an idea of what people would think of the phonograph up close and in person.

7.Book: Sullivan, George. Thomas Edison. Scholastic: Scholastic Paperbacks, 1987.

This source had various information on the things of Edison’s life that you couldn’t find in other books. It told of what his son’s aspired to be, a portrayal of his young life, and what Edison did to fight the hardships in his adult life.

This book provides information subjectory to the practical light bulb. This book tells of the practical light bulb’s purpose, what it was made of/for, and how it’s affected the lives of people. It tells of what happened to Edison once he released this product.

2.Book: Gutheridge, Sue. Thomas Edison: Young Inventor. Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing, October 1986.

This source was based on knowledge of Edison’s life. Biographic details showed an in-depth coverage of Edison’s life from a young boy until his death at age 84.

3.Book: Thatcher M., Rebecca. Thomas Edison, Great Inventor. Mitchell Lane Publishers Inc., 2005.

This book gave me background data on Edison and how he came up with a patented light bulb. It told of how he reformed the light bulb into a product we use in this time even still.

4.Book: Silverberg, Robert. Light for the World. Princeton, NJ;D. Van Nostrand; 1967.

This book tells about the invention of the light bulb, it’s anatomy, and the improvisations of it by others throughout history.

This site mainly showed information on Edison’s life. This website also provided key knowledge of Thomas Edison’s invention’s affecting the world we know today.

This site contained knowledge of inventions prior to creating the Gilded Age. This site gave us the smallest quantity of our information, however we could not have made this project without it.

This website had valueable info on Edison and the impact of his inventions. It told of how he presented them, who bought them, and what they thought of him and his inventions. It also told of how Edison’s invention inspired many others to invent things of their own.

This source proved useful in terms of knowledge about his personal life. This site also had information about the problems he faced in his life.
